File preparation
DRAFT – wording prepared by our web team, to be checked by Zirconn.
Gerber files
- Gerber RS-274X (or ODB++) for every copper layer, solder mask, silkscreen and the board outline.
- Drill files in Excellon format, plated and non-plated holes.
- Stack-up, impedance requirements, material and surface finish in a drawing or readme file.
- Put all files in one ZIP archive.
BOM (bill of materials)
- One line per part: manufacturer part number, manufacturer, quantity per board, description and reference designators.
- Mark parts that must not be replaced, and parts you supply yourself.
- Optional: target price and the oldest date code you accept (DC+), for example 22+.
Pick-and-place file (CPL)
- Designator, X and Y position, rotation and board side (top or bottom) for every placed part.
